About Us

For a playwright without any backing from  a publisher or an agent, it can be an eternal struggle to get your work in front of a company willing to read it. As playwrights ourselves, we understand the frustration and constant rejection (if you hear back at all) that is faced in self-promotion. Let's face it, not everyone is confident in bigging up their work.

In turn, we know that many societies are inundated with emails from self-published/indie playwrights and it's almost impossible to read all the introductions, let alone the plays themselves - and that's if they even make it through the spam filter.

That's where StageLaunch comes in. We are an online database of indie/unpublished playwrights. Amdram societies can search for a play that fits their needs - e.g. by genre or length - and get in touch with the playwright direct (we charge a flat annual fee, not a % of royalties).

We believe that everyone's work should be seen, not just those who have been published.

Plays will be promoted in lots of different ways including via our monthly newsletter to amdram companies.
